Detailed introduction

The 224 series mechanical seals feature a dual-face, multi-spring, non-balanced design, specifically engineered for applications involving corrosive media such as in the chemical and water treatment industries. These seals offer reliable sealing performance and high safety, making them the preferred sealing solution for complex medium- and low-pressure operating conditions.
✅ Core Parameters and Performance
Operating parameters: Pressure ≤ 0.8 MPa (some specifications reach 1.6 MPa); temperature -20℃ to 150℃ (some models reach 180℃); linear velocity ≤ 15 m/s. When the shaft diameter d1 ≤ 100 mm, the axial runout is ±0.5 mm; when d1 > 100 mm, the axial runout is ±2.0 mm.
Corrosion- and wear-resistant configuration: The friction pair can be selected from silicon carbide/graphite or tungsten carbide/tungsten carbide combinations, with a stainless steel substrate that is resistant to moderately corrosive media such as water, oils, acids, alkalis, salts, and organic solvents.
Safety and Stability: The double-face design provides dual sealing protection, making it suitable for flammable, explosive, and toxic media. The multi-spring structure enhances operational stability, easily handling complex operating conditions.
✅ Structural features
Compact internal design: Directly installed inside the pump shaft’s inner diameter, compatible with standard seal chambers, saving installation space.
Reliable transmission design: The transmission sleeve drives the rotating ring to rotate synchronously with the shaft, eliminating the risk of slippage and ensuring stable operation.
Static ring axial compensation: Automatically adapts to thermal expansion, vibration, and shaft misalignment, maintaining tight sealing surface contact and reducing wear.
Multi-material auxiliary seals: Available in nitrile rubber, fluoroelastomer, and ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber, offering high-temperature resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and compatibility with CIP cleaning environments.
✅ Applicable scenarios
Chemical Industry: Reactor vessels and transfer pumps for processes involving sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, chlor-alkali, and other chemicals—capable of withstanding corrosive media and slurry containing solid particles.
Water treatment industry: Sealing of equipment such as clear water pumps, sewage pumps, and submersible pumps.
Power/Water Resources/Iron and Steel: Pump bodies suitable for clean water, hot water, sewage, and media containing particulates.
Papermaking / Coal Chemicals / Fertilizers / Aluminum Production: Conveying and Mixing Equipment for Handling Fiber-Containing, High-Viscosity Media
🔥 Preferred Sealing Solution for Corrosive Media
The 224 series mechanical seals, with their dual-face protection and corrosion-resistant materials, strike a balance between safety and practicality. They are widely used in various industries—including chemical processing, power generation, and papermaking—and represent a cost-effective solution for handling corrosive media such as weak acids and weak bases.
